Hello You!
Welcome to my story.
I am Nicole Stone & I’ve been practicing & teaching yoga for over 20 years having discovered it whilst searching for something to relieve back pain.
I was an avid gym goer in my 20’s as I believed this was where I’d get a ‘proper’ workout. I would work long hours at my corporate desk & head to the gym on my way home where I’d push myself through a sweaty BodyPump class or run on the treadmill until I could run no more.
One day, desperate for some relief from back pain, I stepped into a yoga class and that’s when everything changed.
I had no idea how tight & inflexible I had become – and how hard some of those easy looking yoga poses were! I stepped out of that first class feeling AMAZing and woke the next morning with less back pain & the calmest I’d felt in years.
That was it! My curiosity with yoga began. I began to spend less time in the gym & more time in yoga studios and, along the way realised that actually, yoga could be just as challenging as some of those sweaty gym sessions I used to do.
My body began to change. My muscles became toned, my posture improved, my core became tighter, I became way more flexible, I slept better & felt happier and a whole lot calmer.
I decided to train as a yoga teacher so that I could share the amazing benefits of yoga with others. Fast forward a few years & I’m now trained to teach Hatha yoga, Vinyasa yoga, Breathwork, Restorative Yoga & Yoga for the Menopause. But don’t worry if you don’t know what all these are, I promise, they make you feel sooo good!
Now, in my 50’s, I can most definitely say that yoga has helped me avoid many of the typical signs of ageing & I’m convinced that yoga makes you feel much, much younger too.
However, after breaking my arm in a biking accident & going through a slow recovery compounded by a frozen shoulder, I realised how important it is to keep our muscles & bones as strong as possible as we get older. Declining levels of the hormones oestrogen & progesterone have a massive impact on the health & strength of our bones & muscles.
So now my aim is to use all I’ve learnt in yoga to help people build a stronger, more toned, flexible body from the inside out and help them improve the way they breathe & so I really hope we’ll work together.
Let’s start building a stronger you today!
